Seymour Takes the Field

Richard Seymour took the field with his teammates for the first time in training camp. Unfortunately for the New England Patriots, holdout Deion Branch wasn't with him.

A tight quadriceps has kept Seymour from practicing and he did little physically in a relatively light workout. The star defensive lineman, without helmet or shoulder pads, lined up in his stance and walked through different formations.

He remained on the physically unable to perform list, although he said he should be at full strength for the regular season.

There was no timetable for Branch's return.

Brady Takes the Field

Tom Brady finally took the field Tuesday. The quarterback missed three straight practices with the New England Patriots but they didn't say why. Tom Brady participated in all the practices on Friday and Saturday before sitting out sessions on Sunday and Monday.

Deion Branch, Brady's top wide receiver, held out for a fifth day on Tuesday. He is in the final season of a five-year contract and wants a new deal. He is subject to a $14,000 fine for each day he misses camp.
